Job Summary
The Corporate Counsel reports to the Director of Legal Affairs for the Americas and is responsible for providing guidance, direction and support primarily to internal stakeholders of Harley-Davidson, Inc. and its affiliates in one or more legal practice areas with substantial focus on Marketing, Advertising, Promotions, Data Privacy, and Commercial Transactional Work. This role also provides legal support to the Harley-Davidson Museum. May provide legal support for Commercial Litigation matters, subpoenas, and document/information requests. Provides guidance to legal support staff, manages outside counsel, implements tactics, policies and procedures and represents the Company with external stakeholders.
Education Required
Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
Experience Required
We are looking for someone with:
• 8 years of related experience with at least 3-5 of those years in a law firm and/or corporate legal department.
• A high level of integrity, excellent judgment and analytical skills, and the ability to identify all relevant issues.
• Excellent decision making and problem solving skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills (including good listening skills) and the ability to achieve positive outcomes through influence.
• The ability to lead and work well in a team environment.
• Organization, planning and research skills.
• An ability to provide sound legal advice that is responsive to the business needs of Harley-Davidson, Inc. and its subsidiaries as well as responds to clients’ needs consistent with corporate strategies and objectives.
• An appreciation and awareness of the legal/business interface.
• An ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic and fast paced work environment.
