Job Summary
The Harley-Davidson Museum is looking for ENTHUSIASTIC people to join their seasonal team from May through Labor Day Weekend 2017. Associates at the Museum are an important part of our guests’ experiences – they are the first point of contact for visitors and are responsible for providing positive, engaging experiences. Two available positions this summer are:
Visitor Experience Associate (VEA):
Visitor Experience Associates are located inside the Harley-Davidson Museum, supporting visitors throughout the Museum experience. VEAs can be found greeting guests as they enter the Museum, promoting and selling museum tickets and enhancements such as tours, or getting visitors familiar with the layout of the Museum at its entrance. There are also opportunities to train and become a Tour Guide and/or Jumpstart facilitator. Strong communication skills in person and over the phone are essential in this role.
Retail Service Associate (RSA):
Positive energy and an interest in retail are two characteristics we look for in Retail Services Associates. RSAs work each day in The Shop (located at the Museum) assisting visitors with purchases, merchandising displays, helping with inventory, working on the point of sales system and fulfilling e-commerce orders.
Whether you are working as an Associate in the Museum, or in The Shop, you’ll be representing Harley-Davidson while delivering superior customer service to visitors from around the world! Throughout the summer you’ll be supporting a variety of Museum events and in this role, it’s important to maintain a professional manner, connect with the guests, and have some fun!
Education Required
High school diploma or GED/HSED is required. General knowledge of computer operations or point of sale (POS) experience is preferred.
Experience Required
• Previous experience in a customer-facing work environment is preferred; this position requires outstanding customer service skills and the ability to understand and resolve visitor questions or issues.
• General computer knowledge and POS experience very helpful; a strong attention to detail and ability to handle cash accurately in a fast-paced environment is essential.
• Possess sales skills that will contribute to achieving sales goals.
• Proven ability to manage multiple duties simultaneously and work calmly in a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment while providing exemplary one-on-one assistance to visitors required.
• Some knowledge of Harley-Davidson history and brand a plus.
• Must be available to work the full summer season (May – September).
Flexibility in schedule is required including weekends, holidays and evenings as required by the business.. Must be 18 years or older.
