Job Summary:
The Retail Sales Associate Lead (RSA Lead) is the first point of contact for visitors of the Museum retail store and will be responsible for providing a positive, enjoyable learning experience for all visitors. The RSA Lead is an integral member of our Museum team, responsible for assisting and at times responsible for planning and direction of day to day operations in our retail store, The Shop. The RSA Lead will demonstrate superior customer service both in person and on the phone and be able to conduct customer transactions/interactions in a professional manner. The RSA Lead will be responsible for conducting sales transactions, maintaining Shop environment, and assisting with the receiving, tagging, and stocking of merchandise. This is a part-time customer service position.

Education Required:
High school diploma or GED/HSED is required

Experience Required:
Previous experience working in a customer-facing retail environment as would be acquired over a minimum of 2 years. Must have demonstrated leadership ability in team environment with ability to collaborate and provide direction to others to accomplish goals. General knowledge of computer operations and experience working with a retail point of sale (POS) and inventory control system. Familiarity with inventory management, replenishment and merchandising. Possess sales skills that will contribute to achieving The Shop sales goals. Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to handle cash accurately in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage multiple duties simultaneously and work calmly in a dynamic environment. Must be willing to learn and perform all aspects of day-to-day operations and customer-facing job responsibilities/duties within The Shop environment. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, while also providing exemplary one-on-one assistance to visitors. Flexibility in schedule is required including weekends, holidays and evenings as required by the business. Some knowledge of Harley-Davidson history and brand a plus.

- Will participate in cross-training within the retail environments and be willing to assist in any area of the visitor experience as needed. Must proactively enhance personal knowledge of the Company’s history, products, and Experience in addition to deeper knowledge of the Museum offerings. Will utilize knowledge and skills acquired to enhance the visitor’s overall experience.

- Participates in staff meetings to provide insights and experience regarding Museum procedures while offering solutions to problem areas. Identifies areas for improvement and offers suggestions to address efficiencies, improve or clarify procedures, and visitor experience enhancements.

Communication
- Employee will interact with variety of stakeholders via various communication mediums (written and/or verbal).
- Must apply superior customer service skills to help resolve visitor questions or issues. Must maintain a positive, helpful attitude when dealing with complex issues. Understands and utilizes the established help-chain to work through problems and contact the appropriate Museum personnel.

Museum Operations
- Imparts knowledge of the Company’s history, products, and Experience to enhance the visitor experience. Knowledgeable about the Museum and site lay-out to guide visitors main exhibits, temporary exhibits, special event areas or other attractions on the Museum grounds. Knowledgeable about upcoming Museum events and exhibits as well as large venues within the Milwaukee Metro area. Able to resolve visitor issues in a professional manner while enforcing the Museum’s rules and regulations. Identifies potential problems within the retail store environment and on the Museum grounds and works with security and safety personnel to resolve the issues in a timely manner.

Leadership
- Assists with the planning and direction of daily operations in The Shop. Leads the Retail Sales Associate staff in carrying out day to day responsibilities to maintain operations and achieve goals.
- Responsible for closing and/or opening The Shop on time and ensuring the proper protocols are followed.
- Promotes an environment that encourages team and individual development. Provides training and mentoring to less experience Retail Sales Associate staff.
- Reinforces the policies and takes proper action to document the violation or concern and keep the Retail Store Manager informed.
