Job Summary:
Develops strategic product plans, implements plans and manages growth, pricing, promotions, gross profit, sourcing, and packaging for The Shop at the Museum, H-D Factory Tours and H-D Employee Stores.
Through experience and training this role is the resident industry expert in all product categories of the business from hard lines to soft lines.
Leads cross-functional meetings with both inside and outside stakeholders.
Assesses, develops, manages and maximizes the developmental and manufacturing capabilities of outside suppliers.
Has a thorough understanding of the retail market and conducts market research in order to exploit new business/product opportunities.
Facilitates and leads all product development efforts, manages all aspects of design approvals and ensures HD Trademark guidelines are enforced.
E-Commerce
Accountable for developing plans, policies and procedures for Museum E-Commerce.
Manage the on-going e-commerce website including inventory, product availability, photography, long term goals and with marketing, promotional plans.
Negotiate and manage licensed agreements for ecommerce and H-D images.
Education Required:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree, Business preferred. MBA a plus.
Experience Required:
Minimum of six years of business management experience with emphasis on product management
including: product planning, pricing, market positioning and development.
Requires technical aptitude, knowledge of design, design qualification, knowledge of manufacturing processes, familiarity with cost targeting.
Incumbent must be capable of dynamic product evaluation and an understanding of the Harley-Davidson marketplace, the motorcycle industry, and the ability to translate that understanding into a strategic product line vision.
Requires attending retail and industry trade shows to understand customer requirements, expectations, and trends in the market place.
Requires effective communication, leadership and facilitation skills.
Skills in strategic planning and product planning required.
Computer literacy a must.

Requires initial demand forecasting and reporting of financial components.
* Managing assigned projects by leading cross-functional team and outside supplier resources while achieving cost targets, margin objectives, product features and product introduction timing. Must have the capability to assess supplier competence in the area of concept, design, overall resource, development and supplier management (relations, negotiations, contractual agreements and new supplier selection). Also requires the development and maintenance of a product that is consistent with Museum and corporate strategies.

* Requires the ability to develop, maintain and implement a strategic product plan which supports customer wants, anticipates market trends, leads the market, establishes industry leadership and achieves financial goals while maximizing stakeholder value. Maintains market intelligence on the product category in order to ensure market dominance and maximum customer satisfaction.
Product Management
* Develop and maintain prioritized strategic plans for the assigned product category that balances
market place needs, resources, achieve revenue and growth objectives and establishes/maintains
product category industry leadership. Lead a team effort to manage inventory levels, product life
cycle, inventory turns, product availability, supplier capacity, back orders, SKU management and
new product availability. Measure and grow the assigned category.
* Develop measures to continually monitor current product category performance to insure
performance to corporate and divisional objectives. Meets all financial goals: Revenue, Margin, and
Inventory. Oversees all aspects of the category, including product category image, customer
satisfaction, financials and profitability for the assigned category. Revenue administration,
pricing recommendations, promotions, gross profit analysis, management of sourcing, merchandising,
market research, point-of-purchase, and information regarding the assigned category.
